Description
Many times, thru the course of my work, I have people ask me: "Where's a good place to eat in town?" I have to admit, the question has me stymied. What do I tell these out-of-towners? "Drive about 90 minutes that-a-way?" I don't want to direct them to a sloppy burger or greasy pizza! What are the best places to eat in P.A.? And as a side-bar, do we have any cafes that cook everything from fresh ingredients, as opposed to the dried and frozen institutional foods?

As a shameless reply to my own question, I've heard the new Sopranos dining room is good, but haven't been able to find out for myself since they've been closed the last few times I went there.
Also, there's a 50's style diner somewhere on central, but the same problem: it always seems to be closed!

The 50s diner on central is very good. Good service, good old fashion food. I just found this place myself. It's called "Jolee's" (i think).
An old stand by is Venice House for middle of the road dining. Hate to sound like a food snob, but after living in S'toon its hard to come back here to eat out.
Zorba's is ok, along the line of Venice House. Amy's on 2nd is nice, but pricey. I've only been there once way back and I was pleased with what I got. I have heard a few horror stories since though, but who knows if they're true or not.
One place I really didn't like was Johnny Boy's buffet... I miss Bonanza! :)

To add to my conundrum, I've seen a lot of the kitchens of P.A. restaurants, and as a result, many of them are on my permanent blacklist. You can check out the most recent health report on your favourite eating establishment on the provincial health website. Or maybe you don't want to...

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for using SeeClickFix. While we appreciate everyones opinions and suggestions, posting issues asking people good places to eat is not the appropriate type of issue that should be posted on SeeClickFix. In the future, we only encourage issues to be posted that concern problems that public officials can address and fix within your community. Again, thanks for using SeeClickFix!

OMG, are you serious? This isn't the United Nations here, it's basically a glorified message board. If that's the sole purpose of this place, then I guess we have to find another forum to voice our opinions.
PS: I'll kindly thank you to refrain from spamming my e-mail, please.

Vlasic, could you provide a link to the inspection reports? I've kind of looked at the site, but couldn't find anything but a contact info.
Thanks

We like Zorbas, Venice House and Rickys for family dining. One also forgotten about too is Terace Cafe in the Best Western(old Marquis Inn), good food, good service.
Also, if you don't mind the drive, Ghost Rails Restaurant in Meath Park has very good food, home made from scratch as much as they can, service can be slow sometimes but food worth it, oh AND make sure you call to see if they are open before you take the trek out there.

Hi Everyone,
To clarify, SeeClickFix's main mission is to allow a forum for citizens to report issues like potholes, graffiti, broken street lights, etc. We urge users who want to fix a problem by publicly broadcasting the issue to the appropriate parties for resolution, working collectively to raise the profile of key concerns, or by taking direct action.
While this particular forum has engaged citizens in a positive dialogue about restaurants in Prince Albert, this issue does not address any specific problem within the community. Perhaps if the issue was addressing some sort of violation at a specific restaurant or bad customer service, then the issue would be appropriate to post on SeeClickFix.
We feel that the general posting of "Where do you eat?" could be more effectively and appropriately answered through other forums on the web where their central focus is sharing reviews and suggestions of places to visit.
@Vlasic - Your recent comment regarding health issues in kitchens would be appropriate to post as a separate issue on SeeClickFix. To answer your comment about e-mails:
If you are receiving watch area alerts on new issues or comments, you can use the edit or delete link to opt out of emails.
If you reported an issue and are getting reminder emails, you can use the edit link to turn off these reminders or extend the time between these reminder.
If you would like to not receive any email updates on your issue, you are welcome to not provide your email when you originally report an issue.
Thanks again for utilizing SeeClickFix! We hope we cleared up what types of issues should be posted on SeeClickFix. If anyone has questions regarding this matter, please contact us at contact@seeclickfix.com

Well I would like to discuss places to eat too. It seems that PAToday.ca has a newly revamped discussion forum there.
Join me?

As I was saying. I would also like to talk about food, businesses, restaurants, things to do and see in PA.
Apparently PAToday.ca has a recently revamped discussion forum. I'm trying it.
